Iron stains with AA treatment - what should I consider "done"?
I have some iron stains in my pool. I got a filter setup for fill water that should take out ferric iron. I don't think it'll affect ferrous iron, but regardless, I want to try it out. So I'm doing an AA treatment, then will refill with my "filtered water" and see how the season goes.
Anyways - the main question! How much of the stain can I reasonably expect to be removed? For example, my first application of 1 lb (into a 13600 gallon AGP), I basically accidentally dumped it all in 1 spot. When that splat drifted down to the bottom, that section of pool cleaned up very quickly, to almost a bleach white - NICE!
I circulated etc., but can still see staining in other parts of the pool. So I added a little more, and more, and more, until I got 2 lb in there. But that stuff I added more properly and didn't dump into 1 little spot. And it seems like there is still some minor staining. I'd say it's like 90% - 95% stain-free. But it still doesn't look quite as white as that one area that got really covered.
Check out these pictures:
So, where do I go from here? If I let it circulate all night, will I see different results? Am I being too picky and should just be happy with these results and dump the iron-water to refill with hopefully iron-free stuff and see how the season goes?
Thoughts? What would you do?
Thank you for your time!
