Hello all! It’s all out of whack. Assuming I need to get that CYA level way down by partial draining and refilling over and over, then what? Raise the PH and start shocking with liquid chlorine? Pool is full of algae.

Welcome to the forum!
You need a proper test kit. I suggest the TF-100 or Taylor K2006C. A proper test kit is needed to get the accurate water chemistry results needed to follow the TFP protocols.

While you are waiting on your test kit, add 5 ppm FC worth of liquid chlorine / plain bleach to your pool each evening with the pump running. This will replenish the FC lost each day to the sun and also inhibit any algae in the water from growing further.
I suggest you read through Pool School - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool

In addition to what mknauss said, add your pool information to your profile. It helps to know what type of pool you have (fiberglass, liner, gunite . . .) and what type of equipment you have (salt water chlorine generator, variable speed pump, sand or cartridge filter . . .).

I know you didn’t want to hear - get a test kit, but there is no better way for you to get on track in the most timely and cost effective manner.
