Our backyard paradise is almost complete!

IMG_1037.jpgIt's to hot for a real fire in the summer in Florida so I added these twinkly solar string lights wrapped around some wood in my firepit. I have a citronella candle in the middle of the wood so I have a little flame. The lights have 8 modes, I have it set to flash slowly. It looks great!

I thought I’d do an update since we’ve been upgrading our back yard this year. We added a bigger porch, it’s now 28 x 20, redid the concrete on the porch, replaced the outdoor kitchen with an IKEA modular outdoor kitchen, redid our seawall and dock, and added rock to the rest of the backyard. Still have a few more items to do, mostly electrical on the dock, porch, and rewiring the pool circuit, plus running additional speakers on the porch.

I am not happy with the ikea kitchen, (although it was not very expensive so that was a plus). The stainless steel countertop material is rusting. Plus the doors that close in the cabinets have been on back order for months. My other issues are my pool liner has faded almost white and I had a pinhole leak I had to repair.

I love the Polywood bar table and Polywood fire pit chairs. I also found a lighthouse that I put on the dock made out of the same polywood type of material. Now if the pool will get a little warmer I can start floating!

Polywood rocks. I resisted it for years trying all types of wood including teak. Got them this year and I have not looked back. They are heavy and stay in place. The sun does not destroy them. When they get really dirty a small pressure washer I keep handy makes them look brand new.

BTW. Your little piece of paradise looks amazing.
