I know you would all appreciate (ok, maybe not appreciate...but laugh) at this. When we built the pool almost 3 years ago, I wanted flower pots by the ends. My husband had a fit, saying the dogs would knock them in (we own a doggie daycare and boarding biz in our home, so there are a lot of dogs here). Because I am hard headed, I did it anyway. I cemented the bottom of the pots to make them heavier. And for 3 summers, they did great.

And then....and then we got a 1 yr old GSP:oops:
It wouldn't have been bad if I didn't try to lift the root ball. As soon as I touched it, POOF. I shut the filter off and let Fred (the robot) work for a few hours. With lots of robot filter cleaning, and lots of skimmer hairnet cleaning, it was back to normal by the next day. But man, it sure did look awful!

So. Cement blocks , bricks, pavers etc of the loose kind are not welcome anywhere near your pool. Say, in the bottom of a flowerpot, or holding down a tarp.

They can be tossed into the pool and rip the liner when they hit the bottom, or kiss the side the whole way down.

Glad this one made a vacuumable mess :)

Listen, did you not read my self description of being hard headed?! HA!! Just joking :D Amazingly, the cement stayed in the bottom of the pot when it went in!

I feel your pain - we have two German pointers. One is a boisterous jumper who launches all four feet at you when you come through the door, and the other is a hunter. She’s brought home the normal birds and small mammals but also a couple of snakes, a bat, and a tortoise. she also constantly destroys my drystone walls looking for victims. But I wouldn’t be without ‘em. Great pic!
