Hi all,
First season with the pool and wondered if others have purchased a floatation rescue device? RedCross sells a LIFE patrol Rescue Tube (35") long for $85.
I guess the old ring type design has been improved to a tube. Of course, swim lessons are a given, but want to make sure it is the safest environment I can make it for the littles.
Thanks!

First off, I wish to commend your research. One can never be safe enough with littles around. That said, they have those lifeguard float thingies for all the places that aren't overrun with pool noodles. For example, the ocean beaches.

Amazon 'puddle jumpers' in whatever size you and other friends/ fam need. They are comfortable and the kids have no problems wearing then.

We kept a small, medium and large life vest around at all times, before those came out. It didn't matter who got tired and wanted to keep swimming. Suit up and hop back in.

When the kids were little we got one of those "life Ring" types from Academy (sporting Goods store). It's hung next to the pool for 10 years and never been used once, but i never regretted buying it. We also keep skimmer net poles next to the pool that are probably more useful. They even make a "J-Hook" that you can put on your poles to fish people out of the water.

@Bam Bam, yes we do have the self closing latches on our required fence but we also installed another fence as well. It has a lock, but think I'll add self closing latch as well. Thanks
@bmoreswim - Your pool area looks gorgeous!! Thanks for suggestion - I got a rescue float from the RedCross website and will hang next to pool.
@crusemm - Haven't seen the Jhook before, but interesting idea as well
@Matt F 1 - no substitute for a pair of eyes!
@Newdude - thank you and helpful as always!

Happy swimming soon!!
