I drained my pool because of high CH, it is close to filling back up. I had tile cleaned while empty, the guy did a chlorine bath of pool to kill any algae blooms, he said, and left me two of the bags shown. Should I add these (1 or both) to the pool, or should I just use my TF-100 kit to check, before I do anything.

I recommend checking your levels with your kit first. After you have done that you’ll have the information you need to add chemicals. Regarding the shock- depending on what the “other ingredients” are you might be ok. Typically shocks have CYA and Calcium so you just want to be careful and not overdo it. Especially now that you get to start from scratch!! Yay!

The product he left you is Calcium Hypochlorite - which adds calcium to the water you just added because your Calcium was too High!!!!!! Use bleach, aka liquid chlorine, aka sodium hypochlorite.

The 'chlorine bath' is a joke. Follow Recommended Levels
