First - I clean my filters every 3-4 months. Every time I have this big pile of lint. We do tend to wear a beyond abnormally excessive amount of clothes in the pool. Any harm?

Second - what’s the easiest way to prime my pentair intelliflo after cleaning - I’ve battled this challenge for decades.

Third - Pentair 4 cartridge filter - after reinstalling the lid I sometimes have a drip. How to prevent these? I usually tap gently around the ring while tightening every few turns. How do I know what’s right enough?

Thanks

I am surprised the lint is not being caught by your skimmer or pump basket before it reaches your filter. It may be wise to turn off the power to your pump and check your impeller that it the strands are not wrapped around it or accumulate over time.

You could fill your bottom half of filter with water before putting the lid on as well as fill the pump basket with water.
Is your pump significantly higher than your pool water level?

I always tighten until the spring is just fully compressed. I don't go pass that. I also tap as you do while tighten the band.

+1. And skimmer socks / nylons / knee highs on your skimmer baskets will trap most of the stuff before it leaves the pool.

Also, try filling the pump basket next time your priming. It’ll promptly get sucked into the pump but usually keeps it wet for the 15 seconds it takes to pull pool water.
