Pool Builder took some Professional Pictures…

Montego Pools they are local. I loved their design and the fact they use Pentair equipment. Also they started earlier then others. It’s taking a while to complete but with equipment/product supply issues and labor shortages I expected that. They started the travertine coping the past 2 days.

Wow it’s coming together!!! It took them weeks to to the tile and coping, 3 guys 4-6 days each week. They are very precise, I’ll take the fact it’s taking longer knowing it’s because they want it done right!!! The tile on the top of Spa really brings it all together!!!

How is this build coming along?
Sorry it’s been a while slow but steady progress, I’m told I should have water in the next 30 days. I’m getting a lot of stone work and they are doing it very slow, but it’s coming out great so I’m not complaining. If you look at the pictures you’ll see the planting bed they made with the same stone as my house. They are using this same stone for the exposed wall in the back of the pool. Lots of detail work going on. That said I’m glad the travertine is almost done the clay was getting annoying.

Here are some updated pictures below-

So I’m finally getting the pebble completed Tomorrow then Acid Tuesday followed by water Wednesday!!

I have a few questions I did print out the National Plasters Council start up procedures and I plan to follow them.

Here are my questions

1. Can anyone recommend a good brush for pebble? I know to get nylon, the PB will provide one, but I’d like to buy at least one more. I read about the Whale one it seems interesting and I’ve seen the ones with bristles all around instead of one side. I’m thinking because my pool is so large I should get a 24” brush at least. Thoughts?

2. I’m getting Tropic Blue, they are taking out quartz and adding glass instead, the 2 colors of glass are cobalt and a lighter blue, is this essentially the “Touch of glass” option? I told them that sounds great but I haven't seen one done this way.

3. Water measuring, I’m going to look for my meter today, how do you get exact numbers when you use water all day in the house? I was thinking about seeing what I use today, tomorrow, and Tuesday and negating the average. Thoughts on getting an accurate number?

Sorry this crept up n me usually I am better prepared, we are very excited it’s been a long process, but most of that is due to the PB‘s crews being backed up on other jobs, giving the current demand I fully understand.

Any other information relative to pebble/acid/water fill week would be appreciated.

Thank you everyone!!!

Backing out the average seems like a good idea. I don't have a water meter so I put a flow meter on the hose but the one I got only went up to 999 gallons so I had to count how many times it turned over...which once you get the number of gallons in an hour, it's just math so wasn't a big deal to me. Water typically starts going into the pool as soon as the acid wash is finished so you may to double check that since you've listed it as the day after acid wash.

Hi. I got the sweepease (all nylon). Pool maintenance guy recommended I get a half nylon half steel bristle brush so I bought the sweepease version of that too. He said it will polish the glass in pebble and make it shine. But because of new pebble I plan to wait a year after plaster to try so I have no clue if it’s true or not.

Funny I didn’t even notice they dropped off the Glass, 20 bags of Jewelscapes I took a picture of the colors.

They did my skimmer covers in travertine it gives a nicer look.

Tomorrow is the big day hopefully it doesn’t rain.

Finish after Acid wash, I know many ask about colors. Again this is Tropics Blue with a custom jewelscapes/touch of glass mix. I am extremely happy with the results. I’ll judge the water color in a few weeks but this is beyond what I expected. Originally I asked for them to hand spread glass, they insisted on adding it to the mix to ensure consistency. This is what 20 bags provides I’m looking forward to seeing the water color. They did hand spread the abalone shells.

As you can see water has begun and they also installed the Fire 🔥 Bowls!!!

Equipment pad, a few changes have to be made, the filter is supposed to be the Pentair 520 Cartridge, it’s currently I think a DE 480. The SWG is an IC-40 (that’s what comes with the automation kit) it’s being changed to an IC-60. Other then that all looks good. 2 VSP’s and one booster I think should be plenty? I have the Spa, 2 Pentair bubblers on the ledge, and 3 deck jets on the back wall.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Piping good? Valves? Equipment? I’ll get better pictures later they are still working on it today.

Thank you everyone this forum is the reason my pool builder is shocked at the questions I ask and impressed with the knowledge I have.

A few more pictures of the equipment and some other pictures my son just sent me.

I have to update my signature it still shows my last pool.

I have-
2 Pentair VSP’s
1 Booster Pump
1 Pentair 125 Heat Pump/Chiller
1 Pentair 400 Gas heater (mostly to heat up the Spa quicker)
SWG IC-60
2 5G Intellibrites
3 Microbrites (One for Spa and 2 on tanning ledge)
2 Pentair LED bubblers
3 Deck Jets
Pentair 520 Cartridge Filter
Pentair Easytouch Automation (I originally asked for the Intellitouch so I’m going to ask about that, but I had Easytouch on my last pool at it worked fine for me)

Pentair Easytouch Automation (I originally asked for the Intellitouch so I’m going to ask about that, but I had Easytouch on my last pool at it worked fine for me)
Intellitouch is very old technology. Better is the Intellicenter. With the Easytouch, you will need to add Screenlogic for remote access.
