Hi everyone,
I just purchased a home and am new to taking care of a pool. The previous owner was using chlorine pucks for the last ~15 years (I've been reading that these are not the desirable way to go), so I purchased the TF-100 Test Kit and will post levels here soon for advice. The pool does look sparkling clean though so at least there's that.
My question now though is related to the plumbing/equipment. I'm hoping someone is familiar with this equipment and can help me with some concerns. The pool is at a higher level than the equipment, (pool at the top of the hill, plumbing is down below on the side of the hill). It seems to me there is only one inline PVC valve that stops the gravity flow of water when I need to clean the pump basket and filter, unless there is some sort of combination with the pool or spa modes on the control box that can close off the flow of water from the pool.
If I'm understanding this correctly, it worries me a little only having one valve to stop the pool from draining out completely if something busts. I'm hoping I'm just missing something, because half the handle of that valve is broken and needs to be replaced (I'm using the aluminum "T" handle to be able to turn the valve) . I'm not sure how that would be replaced otherwise.
Thanks for any advice.
Also, I'm located in Escondido (San Diego, California), and if there are any recommendations for local service company's please let me know.
Thanks,
Dino
