Will be in the market for a couple of loungers and looking for recommendations. I have not tried any but have seen the resin type but the price seems totally outrageous for what they are. What kind do some of you have? Thanks,

I assume you are talking about in pool loungers. The Ledge Loungers are expensive at $700, but they sometimes offer their "2nds" for around $400 each. That's the route I went with and I was quite satisfied with the quality. It was hard to tell there was anything wrong with them. You'll have to talk to someone to get this deal, as I don't think they advertise this on their site. I did the "contact me" on their website, and someone from their headquarters in Texas called me the same day.

What makes them so expensive? Niche market? How long do they last?

Consumers who buy them make them expensive. If no one bought them at $700, the price would come down. Plus, they are one of the only ones who make them right now.

I've only had them for a couple of months, but I see them holding up fine. There is some maintenance though. The waterline on the chairs gets discolored a bit, but a magic eraser every once in a while clears it up. Not sure if it's from the salt water or not.
