1. Is this normal?
2. Do I need to use MA now or do I need to give it some time and recheck ph later?
Thank you

You will need to use MA-
granular boric acid is recommended for adding borates as it has little effect on ph & ta.

I add granola boric acid; it's cheap and seems to stabilize my PH well. Adding a SWCG seems to help with keeping PH locked in too.

For Muriatic Acid.......I use Acid Magic; it's a little more expensive but safer to use from a spill, fumes, etc.
