Hi all. First time pool owner, have a few questions. First- I have a taylor k2005 test kit ordered which should be arriving today. So plan to post test results for advice. Second- I have what seems to be calcium deposit build up on spa water fall and ring around the pool. Can anyone give advice on easiest way to remove/clean? If I do a 5/1 acid wash, will gloves/mask suffice for PPE? Is it ok to let chemicals and residue fall in the pool then remove after the fact? Any pointers much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!

If you can change that, you need the K2006C. If you cannot change it, you need to order a FAS-DPD test kit for FC/CC testing.

You have calcium and most likely some effloresence. Both can be cleaned with a dilute MA solution. It is OK for that to go into the pool water.

Stacked stone where you have it is not the easiest for maintenance.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
