Decking - Finally our pool build

I got lucky. The forecast was calling for rain and the PB was so worried about a cave-in. They could have flashed it, but the Gunite guys moved some other jobs around to do mine. (They really wanted to get paid for this job).
No gunite this week but likely next.

I’m scheduled for long plumb, electrical start, and tile start.

If i was the builder I would put me in the middle of the list. I'm in rock and unlikely will need to reform anything before gunite. Probably other customers in softer soil need that gunite ASAP. The story I heard was the gunite crew is one pump down.

Only one snag, the pvc for the 3rd light of the stairs is too short. The gunite crew left it open for them to come extend. Also this builder leaves a hole in the deepend and the shelf for the ground water to come up so you'll see some holes .
Coping, tille, and water feature is here ready to start work next week sometime. They also had the forms removed today.

Now the mixed news. The deepend depth isn't 6 feet! 
. I think they can get it just above 5.5' by adding 1" of mortar on the bond beam. The builder is coming by tomorrow to measure and talk about options. I'm told it can get it to 6' somehow but I do feel weird about any kind of chip out or potentially affecting the pool shell. To be clear they didn't mention chip out yet but how else can they make up 4 to 6", i don't know. I'll keep y'all updated and i'll need some guidance and help along the way.
The only silver lining here is the wife is fine with the 5.5" but we did agree to build at 6'. I speculate what happened is the gunite crew was working off the old spec printout that had 5.5'. The dig was 7' so there is more than enough gunite at the floor. I speculate over 12".

After many talks with friends and familiy I did come to peace with any outcome. The builder came by this afternoon. We had a good chat. They can make the adjustment to get it deeper. However we decided to leave it. The wife is happy with the 5.5' in some spots. It will actually be a little deeper than that in the middle closer to 5' 9". The measurements are at the final water level 3" short of coping.
And we are still waiting for tile & coping. So far it's been about 2 weeks of work total over 2.5 months . The builder told me to expect the heater to be back ordered. We are swimming through October heater or not!

It's slooooow going. Deck-side coping is on so the deck crew will come out here and pour the concrete eventually. Have any of y'all heard of different width coping being used on a pool? The shallow-end wall is extra thick and will need another 2 inches of width to cover the bond beam. No decking on that side. In the end I won't likely notice that much just feels a bit odd.

Here's the latest look with tile and coping installed. We really love the ceramic tile on the raised wall. Water feature at the top.
Outstanding items:
* quite a struggle to get leaky PVC elbow replaced. I'm waiting to hear back from builder and their plumber. I started a thread for more help on this all I've seen is conclusion a very small leak exists.
* my wife only has picked out tile and grout colors for the pool. The waterline tile grout color is WAY off. SIgh. It's supposed to match the color of the tile. I'm waiting for the builder to work it out with their subs. It makes me nervous that they'll attempt to remove some of the grout to put a darker color in; I've tried this on tile before it is hard to do well. Should I fight for complete grout removal or let them get away with partial?
Next up:
* Electrical trench dug a week ago. Waiting on electrician to come.

If you want to change grout color then the old grout needs to come out and new grout put in. Now saying that it is going to take someone with a VERY steady hand and great pride in their work to do a good job and not mess up any of the tiles. They might offer to take some money off if you think you can live with the grout like it is now. If you REALLY do not like it then make them redo it the CORRECT way!

I actually really like the color. It makes the tiles pop. It also ties in with the lighter tile wall. But since they did it wrong I would still try to get compensation.
I agree Kimkats. I'll be watching the rework closely.
I did a poor job saying it upfront. The only involvement in this pool for her has been picking tile and grout. She could care less about the other things as long as she gets that and the sundeck. So we'll have to fix it. I am fine either way on the grout. This is the color we picked in the showroom. If they are going to pick it for us then why have us do it?

You know talking face to face is the way to go. Feel much better and aligned on rest of the pool project after an impromptu 30m face-to-face chat with the builder today. We'll darken the grout. The plumber will come by to replace the elbow soon, and the deck and kitchen start next week! Elecricians came by today and ran conduit in the trench for pool + hot tub.
My post was just suggesting to not worry about the slope at all. My pool goes from 3' to over 6' back to 3' in less than 30' of length. Right now, with no water, it's noticeably very steep when walking on it. But when it has water in it, you don't notice at all, because most of your weight is being supported by the buoyancy.
