White flakes coming out of the return lines

I have been getting white flakes on the floor at the return lines. History is this is my. First year in 18 years not using tabs, just liquid shock. Something is obviously breaking loose internally thinking it looks like calcium.

Place a drop of MA on a flake and see if it fizzes.

My bad...I got lazy. I should have typed it out.

If it fizzes, it's most likely calcium-based.

It kinda looks like plastic or paint flakes. What's it feel like?

Rock hard and brittle, you can easily crack it in half.

Sounds like calcium. Acid test will confirm it.

It has cleared up and stopped just FYI, it did fizzle when Muratic acid was dropped on it.
