Hi, greetings from Phoenix AZ. I purchased a house a little over a year ago with about 20000 gallon diving pool. It was a plaster pool that needed to be resurfaced and had the deck cracked in multiple spots.
I've taken care of the pool myself this whole time and have replaced the pool filter (Pentair FNS DE filter), the pool vaccum (Hayward Aquanaut 400), had the deck resurfaced along with the actual pool resurface (went from plaster to pebble). I've noticed that since I had the pool resurfaced in October, the top step in the pool has had its color fade. I'm guessing the floating chlorinators like to sit near the stair and have prematurely worn the pebble surface. I've taken the floaters out of the pool while I wait for a harnesses to arrive so I can secure the floaters to the vacuum hose. If that doesn't work I may have to look into an offline chlorinator setup. If anyone has any experience with auto chlorinators feel free to reach out.
Below are some pictures of the pool.
