Iowa Vinyl Pool

Looking good! They are getting close to pouring the bond beam. Those full length liner over steps have a million nuts and bolts. I did full width liner over sun deck/steps and there were literally 20 bags of nuts and bolts. I did not think I would ever get them all in.

You can get a idea of how many from this pic. There is a bolt like every 4 inches or so, rows and rows of them!

Wow! That's really cool!

They are really moving along. When are they planning to be done?

I get asked that a lot... I'm not really sure. We still need to get a guy for electrical and I'm waiting on a quote. They need to pour the vermiculite floor, put in plumbing & equipment. Put clean gravel behind the wall. Pour concrete around the pool. Then it has to be at least 70 degrees before they can drop the liner.

The landscaper will do the pavers/fire pit/steps/retaining wall/cabana.

I'm not sure when the liner will be placed with all of this. So much going on...

Looks like they are getting ready to pour the equipment pad, placed the rebar in. I think that long box in the back is the autocover shell. But not really sure...6460CBA6-99EE-48A0-84D4-20BA4244AA84.jpeg

You put concrete in the base of the steps as well as the bond beam around the perimeter of the pool.

Then they will fill the rest of the steps with gravel and then lastly 2" of vermiculite or concrete on top of the rock to finish out the steps.

I used concrete for the top most part of my steps because I was told if I used vermiculite and the step is shallow and you jump on it...it could cause a divot since you are not deep enough in the water to make you buoyant...the full weight of your body would be pressing on the vermiculite.

Also...nice shop in the background!!!

Thanks! It came with the property. The road from our house to the shop was all gravel and we got ahead of ourselves and black topped it last year. Then after, decided to put in a pool. Not a good order of events. 🤣 We added the solar panels in 2018.

Today I was busy staining our garden beds so I didn't take as many pics. We only had 1 guy from the PB today (planned) but the whole crew will be back tomorrow or wednesday. They dug another trench which will have tubing that goes around the perimeter of the pool to redirect water that may get behind the liner. Between this & the landscapers drainage plans we should have no issues.

I think we are waiting for the state inspection on electrical and the PB wants coping and paver samples from the landscaper to get the concrete height just right. Coping and pavers won't be in until next week.

Feels like we're getting closer...
