Iowa Vinyl Pool

Congrats!!! Brings back memories/nighmares to last September when I was in the hole in my back yard with a shovel chasing the track hoe digging my pool.

The pool was originally a bit close to the gas line so before the dig we decided to move the pool north a few feet just to err on the side of caution. So it may not quite look like the final plans but I'm pretty happy about the decision because it gives us more deck space next to the house where we're going to be anyway. Well, when we're not in the pool.

You can never have too much deck space. I ended up with almost 2,000 sq. ft. of deck and I love having plenty of room.

I watched all the build threads last summer after we had signed a contract. I completely get it!
I've walked through some pretty tough times to get here. Its been crazy. The last several years has been hard. Old man recieved a traumatic brain injury that changed our lives completely. Some days I feel like I'm drowning in a pool. lol Lost our house in a devastating fire last year, 2 days after installing a replacement pool. Was homeless for a month n then rented for a month during covid. I feel like I deserve this wonderful pool and opportunity to make my new home my new staycation. Sorry for up chucking all that. I'm living through your build until I get to break ground on mine. I get to make my first payment this week on my bone dry yard. Haha Keep posting updates! I'm thoroughly enjoying them.

I am so sorry for all you've been through. Up chuck away! Sometimes it's therapeutic to get it all out. I'm just over here (sahm) documenting the pool build. Pretty sure there are a bunch of things I need to get done... but I have pool watching to do... 🤣 Looks like they are working on the steps. More pics to come!

I took off a week in August because I'm going to be watching every scoop of dirt being removed. Pool watching is a hard job but someone has to do it!!!

Love love LOVE the ladder step thingies !!!
Thanks! We put them on both sides (made that final decision today) and then there will be handrails. Not sure if these steps are typical for vinyl pools or not... They are the standard deep end steps this company puts in.

Looking good! They are getting close to pouring the bond beam. Those full length liner over steps have a million nuts and bolts. I did full width liner over sun deck/steps and there were literally 20 bags of nuts and bolts. I did not think I would ever get them all in.

You can get a idea of how many from this pic. There is a bolt like every 4 inches or so, rows and rows of them!
