New Build - Leaking Gunite tub

We have had Gunite in the ground now about 3 weeks. As we have had some rain there is water in the spa and it is slowly leaking into the pool area. (you can see the stain under the laser leveler in the picture)

We have been told that this is normal and the plaster is the true seal. Is this true or do we have a problem?

Congrats on your new build and welcome.
That is very true, the gunite is the strength of the structure, but plaster is what waterproofs it.

If you havent dont so, check out pool school's section on construction. That helped me during my build and hope it does the same for you:
