Returning Water options

Hello and thanks for the help. I would like to know what the Jandy Valve on the left does..?

the one on the right diverts the water to the pool or the spa. When I have diverting to the pool (left) I can have the booster on does the Jandy valve on the left have anything to do with the booster pump...? I notice if I have it in one direction it goes Into a borrower pipe.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am not sure.. It looks like it is some venturi type of device, but not sure what it does..

Let's see if @JamesW has any ideas..

Does your spa overflow back into your pool?

It's not related to the booster.

Maybe a slide line or a fill line?

What happens when you open the valve?

Ok, when I zoomed in, I can see that it looks like a venturi feed.

Maybe from an old ozonator?

Sorry Typo.......**narrower pipe**

The Spa over flows into the pool when I have the water flowing into the spa.

what is an Ozonator..?

When I send the water in the direction of the pool only.......and I have the valve in the direction of the Venturi or off I can not tell any difference......the water still comes out of the pool jets the same velocity.

Venturis are used to inject something. Maybe liquid chlorine or ozone. Do you have any unused equipment hanging around?

What happens if you rotate the valve so that the returns are partially closed to force more water through the venturi?

Are there any returns with nothing coming out?

Without knowing what it goes to, we can't really know if it should be open or closed.

Maybe dig down some around the venturi to see if that helps identify what it goes to.

If I divert water to the Venturi, water continues to come out of the nozzles in the pool. Just like if it was closed.

Maybe the venturi line is tied back into the returns.

I would dig down some to see what you can see.
