Getting ready for install

I am supposed to get my install date next week (fiberglass pool from Leisure) and the LP contractors (nationwide) will do the install. I am curious regarding the installation of the pool equipment. I live in Northern Virginia and if the pool was already installed I would have winterized and closed the pool.

With respect to the installation, is there any disadvantage (other than op testing the equipment) to setting the pool, keeping the returns plugged and not introducing water into the plumbing and equipment until we open the pool in the spring.

This site has been a tremendous help in the selection of equipment and the "gotchas"...while I understand there will be hiccups along the way, the collective knowledge of this forum helps with some of the anxiety that is about to set in.

Thanks to all
Wes

I just had my fiberglass pool install finished a few weeks ago. I elected to keep everything plugged after the equipment install. My pool builder is coming back in the spring to start everything up and test my equipment.
