Need advice to help with wind getting under the winter cover and putting stress on the pool. I decided to buy hundreds of those clips to put along the the entire pool rail because I was hoping it would make a complete block of the wind from getting under. It works well expect for when it’s blowing hard I think the wind is still getting in through the crack between the rail and the pool wall... and since I have it clipped completely it is pulling hard on the rails. I tried wrapping it to seal it better, barely helps. Last year the cable popped a few caps off the rails and loosened the odd screw just im scared of the same thing happening again, this is the worst part of owning this pool. Any advice or tips will help. Pool is on a hill in direct wind. Thanks 44E56276-D149-4D03-9971-9B3E7ED03064.jpeg

Welcome to TFP!

It's not so much that the wind is getting under the cover, it's that the wind blowing over the cover creates low pressure which pulls upwards on the cover and so sucks air in wherever it can. Couple this with the wind helping to push the water to one side and you get a cover that's going to inflate like a balloon.

Not a lot you can do. Once the water on top freezes it will help hold the cover down better.

As @Donldson said your cover is acting like an aircraft wing and the wind blowing over it is creating low pressure causing the cover to rise.

What you need to do is put "spoilers" on the cover to spoil the lift. Foam blocks or pool noodles tied on the cover will change the air flow over the cover

See the pics in this thread of pool noodles tied to an aircraft wing to act as a spoiler to keep winds from lifting the plane when parked on the ground...

Hey Scott !! Just a though that adding more water on top of the cover might leave enough of it spread around to keep the currently dry side of the cover down.

I ran a rope a crossed the area bulging up today, there’s way to much wind and pressure for the water to stay on that side it’s all pooled on the other side. has anyone installed the eliminator extreme pool cover or have thoughts on it? I don’t like the idea of screwing holes in the legs but other than that it seems to be a solid set up and no slack in the cover to blow around. I’m in southern Nova Scotia not sure if we get to much snow for that type of cover? Anything’s gotta be better than this.

Fill empty bleach bottles with water ......
You jogged my memory. @krazykrames has a great example in post # 3. Well done Oly !!
