We filled an above ground pool a week ago with well water. I tested water with Taylor kit, high ph, high TA, high CA. Bought acid to treat but haven’t yet. The past few days pool vac stirs up white flakes that look like wet toilet paper. Sand filter is not filtering them out. Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it? Have you added chlorine and CYA?
Do you use that water in your home? Do you have a water softener?
 
We do use the water in our home with no water softeners which is probably not good!!
I’m using a UV system with hydrogen peroxide and my levels for that are 50ppm.
