Intellicenter not communicating with pump

Hello. Our pool was completed at the end of May and we have had lots of challenges with our Intellicenter. Today it stopped communicating with our pump-- really everything except our deck jets won't turn on. We can't connect to it online and from the panel we get an error that it can't communicate with the pump. We have no idea what we're doing. Any troubleshooting ideas? Thank you.

123,

"Assuming" your pool builder wired things correctly, the only time the IntelliCenter should not be communicating with your pump is if your automation is in the Service mode...

Go out and look at the display on your IntelliFlo pump.. It should say "Display not Active" if talking with the IntelliCenter.. If not, it it will display an RPM or GPM with a bunch of other stuff.. If the pump's display is blank, then you most likely popped a breaker, or your pump died..

Please let us know what you find out..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thank you so much. We don't see anything on the display of the pump. The panel "clicks" when we try to turn on the pump or other features but the pump doesn't do anything. We've reset the breakers so I guess our new pump is dead or our pool builder did something wrong. It's weird though. Initially the deck jets were working (but nothing else) and now we can't get them to turn on either.

123,

Just to be clear, the display on the pump is blank... Is that correct??

If the pump has power, the display should have some display..

Normally there are two different breakers.. The breakers in the IntelliCenter itself and the breaker(s) inside the main power panel in the house... Did you reset both of them?

What does the display on the IntelliCenter show? It should show that you are in Auto Mode and NOT Service Mode.. You also need to be in the Pool or Spa mode.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jim- That is correct, the display on the pump is blank. We have reset both the breaker at the pool equipment and the breaker inside the house. The display on the IntelliCenter doesn't show a particular mode but we think we are in auto mode. We don't see a selection for pool or spa mode. Maybe WE are the problem. I attached a couple of pictures of what we are seeing on the pump and display. Thank you!

1. Your pump display should display the following at all times as long as the pump is energized and if the control cable (RS-485) is connected properly to the IC 485 bus.
PUMP ADDRESS 1
DISPLAY NOT ACTIVE

If, it displays nothing, it has either failed or it is not receiving power (unless the display has failed).

If you had this installed by a pool builder recently, he should honor the warranty, especially if you do not have the skill sets necessary to begin troubleshooting the power?

CAUTION: Whatever you do, before you open the high voltage compartment of the IntelliCenter Load Center, ensure power is removed at the circuit breaker that provides power to the Load Center, at the house circuit breaker panel.

Reading the above comments, It sounds like it worked for a while and then just quit. Is there anything "unusual" that happened or was done to the system between the time that it worked and the time that it didn't?

Thanks,
r.

From the panel, navigate to SETTINGS > SERVICE MODE and observe the mode displayed. Select AUTO to put it back into normal mode.

Thank you! Yes, the pump is displaying nothing. I have also attached a picture of our main screen of the IntelliCenter.

The pool is brand new--got plaster/water in late May. We do not have the skill set to troubleshoot the power though. Yes, the pump has been working since May and it was working yesterday. We didn't look at it until this afternoon when my husband was unable to access the IntelliCenter through the app. He went to look at the panel itself and noticed he didn't hear the pump; however, he was able to turn on the deck jets at that time. We are now a few hours later and now the deck jets don't work either. However, we did push a lot of buttons trying to get things working again and maybe we made the problem worse.

Other than that, nothing has happened that would have caused a problem that we are aware of. We did have some pretty significant storms here but they were 2-3 weeks ago now. The first one knocked out our Verizon box and we had to have it replaced but the pump has been working with no apparent problem since then.

My AZ beat me to it, but here is a pic of what it should look like once you go to Settings/Service mode. Make sure it is in AUTO, and not SERVICE MODE.

Heading out to do this now.
I'll bet that's it. I bet it was put into service mode somehow. Also, if memory serves, I think I read somewhere that if you reset the system power circuit breaker, when the system comes back on it will default back to AUTO mode.

It has to be something else. When mine is in service mode, my pump display is active just like I had no automation. If yours is blank, it is not getting power somehow.
