Pollen vs Mustard Algae vs Dirt?

Hi! So I've lurked here and tried to find an answer. I *think* we have dirt and pollen but I can't understand why it would still be in the pool. By my calculations and the pool store's we're good on water and if I take a sample it is clear but obviously by the pic it isn't.

Symptoms
Started after crypemertles dropped a metric ton of blooms into the pool
Cloudy brown/green
Nothing noticeable sticking to walls or any sliminess
Pollen/dust gathering at the bottom / steps / stairs, if I wave my hand it flows around
Filter is running fine, backwashes don't show too much dirt leaving
The side pump cleaner runs and doesn't pick up anything

Stats are:
PH: 7.4-7.5
FC: 2.8
CYA: 50
TA: 80
CH: 200
TC: 3.4

Things I've tried:

12 bags of shock
Chitosan as directed
A pool clarifier from the pool store

I'm a bit at a loss, it seems like a ton of pollen but I can't get it out :(

Your chlorine is too low, see the FC/CYA chart in my signature. Follow the SLAM process from pool school to get rid of the algae, then maintain your FC per the chart (FC at 6-8 for your CYA level).

Ok thanks for the response! Does that clear up the dirt/debris or is that something else? I'm not trying to be rude but it just doesn't look like the algae I've seen in the pool before. It's like a fine dust that settles and then gets stirred up.

Also, it is recommending what seems like a lot of chlorine, is that right? (11 gallons of 10% bleach)

I put in 12 bags of shock (73% available chlorine) and it didn't seem to help too much.

I would imagine that dust you are seeing is really dead algae. You can always do an OCLT to see how much chlorine is being used up by algae before you SLAM.

11 gallons seems a bit much, but you do have a big pool. By my math, 11 gallons of 10% bleach on a 33k pool raises FC by 33. Your target FC is 20, so that would be about 7 gallons if you are going from a FC of 0.
