So, we have a salt water generator pool that we have had for five years. The first year we took advantage of the salt water but the last four years we have run it as a strictly chlorine pool. We are struggling to get it clear. It is always cloudy and or greenish tented. We want to go back to the salt water method. By reading through some of the threads I know we need to get a good test kit. Is there one that will test the salts as well or do I need to buy two separate kits. Other than The kit, why do we need to do to switch it back to using salt?

You need a proper test kit. I suggest the TF-100 A proper test kit is needed to get the accurate water chemistry results needed to follow the TFP protocols. Get the Taylor K1766 salt kit and SpeedStir at the same time.
Once you get your test kit, run a full set of tests and post them here. We can guide you through the SLAM Process to clear your water and prepare for the SWCG.

We have decided to wait until spring to convert it back to salt. I am assuming that all we will need is the TF 100 test kit at this point.
