Pump recommendations?

I currently have a Intex rectangular pool. 18’x9’x52” that holds 4545 gals. It has a Intex krystal clear sand filter pump Model # SF90110-1. The total motor hp according to the pump is 0.18. According to the manual based on my pool it will cycle in 6 hours.

Little back story to understand what use we have got out of it and how it is set up . We purchased the pool and pump back in April. Set it up for a month before a couple of pieces broke. It hasn’t been used since as we are still waiting on parts. During the month the pump appeared to perform the same from first use till last day we used the pool. We have it hooked up through two pool heaters. The heaters we are using is just a long hose under a dome that collects heat. The water leaves the pool into the pump then into one heater the other then back into the pool. There are two outlets and one inlet.

When you place your hand in front of the inlet you do not feel any water pressure hit your hand. You feel a slight temp change Standing directly by inlet. My worry is the pump is not circulating the water correctly.

My hope is someone in this group can give me a hand. I am not sure if the pump is just not adequate or if someone thinks there could be a problem in my system.

Sorry this is lengthy just trying to give as much info as possible. Thanks in advance for any and all help

Welcome to TFP.

What are the two heaters you have hooked up?

Post pics of your setup.

Each heater restricts the water flow. That pump is too small to provide much flow through the heater restrictions.

Thank you for the welcome and the reply. I wasn’t able to get a great pic of the setup this morning but did get one of the two heaters and a close up of one. Please ignore the setup. Southern engineering was at its greatest that day as I used old satellite dishes. What size pump would you recommend based off my setup?

I would just like to commend you on the engineering here.

How hard would it be to bypass those heaters and see what your flow is like? That would tell you if the heaters are the problem. If the heaters are the problem you put the them on their own little pump just to circulate your heated water.

I am unsure how that would work swing as the water that it is heating is the water that being put back in the pool after it goes through the pump. Not sure if I am misunderstanding what your saying.

Basically a separate loop with a separate little pump to circulate water through your heaters.

Hook your filter and pump combo back up as you would if you didnt have heaters. Then use a a couple of hoses with another little pump just dropped over the pool wall to heat water when you want it. Take the strain off your filter and pump combo.
