Hi Everyone
I just completed an owner builder Gunite/SWG pool project in March in central Florida. Using the pool everyday and loving it. Water looks and feels great. I test water daily/weekly and most of the time everything is where it should be. However I have an annoying white “stain” around the bottom of the pool. Nothing on the sides. I have attached an up close pic. I have read about calcium etching and calcium scale. Neither seem to fit what I am seeing. Plaster contractor said keep adding acid and brushing. He couldn’t identify it specifically. I contacted manufacturer of aggregate and they referred me to contractor. Anybody have any ideas?? Top of pic is what pool should look like, bottom half you see the white stain/buildup...
Thanks

Calcium Chloride is added to the plaster so it sets up quicker for the installer. That batch could have been abnormally high or too much water was added and it diluted the pigment.

Either way, it's not scale and it's not etched.... and there's not much you can do about it unfortunately.
