Overlap liner without original liner on Intext Ultra Frame pool?

Hi, I have an 15 x 48" Intex Ultra Frame pool and stupidly threw out the old liner last year as it was in tough shape. Now I'm seeing the replacement liner isn't available anywhere. I'm wondering if I can use an overlap liner but I am having a hard time finding anyone who is using an overlap liner without the orginal liner underneath to support it. I'm assuming without the orginal liner going through the horizontal tubes at the top and supporting the new liner, the overlap liner will just start bulging out between the vertical legs.

Is there are way to do it without the original liner? I'd think I'd have to find a way to secure the overlap liner to the top rail. It's an odd shaped rail. See attached. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No, that won't work. On a steel wall pool, the liner isn't supporting water, the steel wall is. So it's a lot thinner. The issue isn't securing it to the top rail, it's just that it will lack the strength to support the water.

You'll need to source an actual Intex liner, or perhaps some equivalent for a different model pool that also uses soft walls.

I see for the actual replacement parts page on Intex's website the liner is out of stock. Have you tried emailing them?

Thanks for the replies. jseyfert3, I spoke to Intex this morning. The liners will be out of stock for a month or two, unfortunately. Bummer. I believe Coleman has or had a similar liner but can't seem to find that either. If you think of anything, please let me know. Thanks!!!!

The steel walled pools are corrugated (sort of) there are bends thru-out the entire continuous sheet top to bottom. This offers rigidity and strength. That is why ductwork is cross broken or beaded to stop oil canning. Plain old galvo wont work.

Thanks so much for your advice! Sounds like I need to find a place that sells Intex 15 x 48 Ultra Frame liners. They seem to be out of stock everywhere. Does anyone know if there's a cycle to the availability of Intex liners or even Coleman (which seem similar)?

Hi guys. Thanks for all the advice. You've been a lifesaver. I just wanted to update you that I after a LONG time searching for a used pool as PoolMammy suggested, I found a 1-year-old Intex 18 x 48" pool with cover for $275 about 90 minutes away on Offerup. The transaction went smoothly, it's in great condition, and they threw in an upgraded filter as well as a $300 bin of HtH Ultimate Mineral Brilliance, which I have to figure out what exactly it is. Thanks for all your help! I'm now considering getting a pool heater so we can get using it sooner. Any thoughts on an affordable pool heater for a 6,600 gal Intex pool (or should I start a new thread)? Thanks so much!

Mineral Balance is something you need to sell or give to someone you don't really like. it has copper that can stain and turn hair green and a bunch of other junk you don't want in your pool.

I don't think there are any "affordable" heaters, but ones that will actually work START around 1,200 bucks. get a solar blanket for $40 and keep what heat the sun gives you in at night.
