Lomart Montessa 24' rusting

Hey everyone,

I wanted to post this here so see what your thoughts are related to the rusting of my top rails, stabilizer rails and vertical top caps. My pool is a Lomart Montessa 24' round AGP. I noticed rusty metal flakes in the pool after about 3 years post installation and it's now been about 5 years since the pool was installed. I've been running a SWG (Hayward AquaTrol) since installation and the pool is bonded. I pulled the first top rail this weekend and decided to try and fix the problem first before replacing the pool.

Check out the pics and let me know what you think. I'm thinking maybe: 1. Something possibly wrong with the bonding causing corrosion, 2. Maybe a SWG shouldn't be used with this pool, 3. Possible issue with chemicals being out of balance.

I've got replacement parts on the way and most likely won't be using the SWG anymore. Just wanted to get some thoughts in hopes of avoiding the issue in the future.

Thanks!

Appreciate the response and I noticed that as well. When I purchased it 5-6 years ago, I don't believe it said that. I do know that the warranty is voided when a SWG is used. At this point, I'm just hoping to avoid the corrosion of the replacement parts.

Thanks Pv2. That was my understanding as well. I probably ran my chlorine too high w/ the salt generator and combine that w/ the metal part = rust. Replacement parts are on the way and I'm going to change how the pool gets it's chlorine, so we'll see how it goes.
