fresh re-plaster job issues

So i just recently had my pool replastered with white commercial quartz. While the pool was filling up i noticed multiple round stains around the deep end walls that looked like you could see through the plaster and see where the roto hammer marks were. Fast forward- the pool is filled up and cannot see those marks anymore, however, theres 4 areas of chipping in the transition to the deep end that have a solid dark stain inside of it. It is from the spikes that the workers wear. 2 days ago i went in the water and confirmed they are actually chips. Id like to know why those are slowly showing up and how they are remedied?

I was finally able to get the contractor out to look and he confirmed thats what it is. He said this can be fixed under water. Theres other issues as well. Grey stains that he said would rub out with a diamond pad but they got worse. He said dirt got into the mix and hed have to chip it out and redo those areas. At this point theres alot of alarms going off. These are only a few concerns. At first this guy was disregarding my concerns a few days after it was filled up. A month later and after him coming out to look at it he is still telling me what a great job they did and what a beautiful pool i have and how this are minor issues. haha

The first two photos, if you zoom in, you can see all the roundish dark areas.

The third photo is one area of a long greyish streak which he couldn’t rub out. There’s also blue specks in random areas in the “white quartz” which he says is in the product which Im not sure about.

Last photo is on both sides of the pool going up the sidewalks. Very large areas of gray scrape marks.

I haven’t been able to get quality pics of the chips

You did not get good workmanship from that plaster crew. You need to negotiate what he is willing to do that is acceptable to you. None of the fixes will be perfect.

Could you tell me what the issues are from

Chips is just sloppy work.

I don’t know what ”commercial quartz” is and what aggregate is expected to be in the mix. Maybe they should have been more careful with their mix and tools to not contaminate the white color.

Plaster is a hand applied art that depends on the quality of the crew that day. The plaster is hand mixed on sire. What you get depends on the crew and weather that day.

Is there such a thing as “commercial white quartz”? I paid extra for the more durable product over white plaster.

can the chips be fixed with the pool filled?

what are the dark round colors on the sidewalks from?

what are the other marks from?

This was my pool right as they finished up the plaster. The surface was perfect and bone white. It has developed some mottling since then which is common for plaster but nothing like yours.

Usually the source of a premium finish is specified. I have no idea where he sourced the plaster from. Typical suppliers are:

He can try. All depends how well the color of the patches will blend in or stand out.

Don't know.
