Howdy y'all! So we're 2 weeks into our new pool and i've been doing all the maintence and water chemistry and things are looking good. I took a water sample to my local pool store just to see what they would say. I've done over two dozen tests with the TF-100 test kit as well as a pH meter and some test strips and I feel pretty confident about my results. The pool store's results where hit or miss compared to mine.

TF-100 Results today:
FC- 5
pH - 7.7
TA- 130
CH- 150
CYA - 60
Salt - 3100

Pool Store's results today:
FC - 10
pH- 7.7
TA- 100
CH - 100
CYA- 60
Salt - 2900

I've read elsewhere on this forum that pool store results are not always accurate, perhaps they aim to sell you stuff when in fact you don't really need it?

New Slogan - "TF 100 - So easy even an Aggie can do it!"

Just kidding. Congrats on the pool and good job on the numbers! I'm curious, did they try and sell you anything from their test results?

If I had a nickel for every time I heard a "even an Aggie can do it!" joke... lol

Thanks! They didn't push much but last week I went to get 1 item they wanted me to get phosphate down stuff.

Wow, they got two right...

FC 10??? What? That's ridiculous. I assure you your sample didn't raise itself by 50% on the way to the store. More likely someone had high FC water before you and they didn't rinse afterwards, nor with your sample.

Best not to bring water next time you go in.
