Hi,
I have been trying to maintain our new pool and it has been a struggle. Now, I noticed a red light flashing on the pump display, and saw the message "priming failure". Thinking the pump may not have have enough water, I dragged by hose over to the filter trap, opened it and noticed the water that was in the pump was very hot. I put more water in the pump but it didn't seem to make much of a difference, so I now I put the pool in 'service' mode so that I didn't end up burning up the equipment. Suggestions???

Welcome to the forum:wave:

It sounds like you have a suction side leak. This article in pool school will help you find it.

That hot water means you let the pump run too long without priming. If your pump doesn't prime in about 3-4 minutes, it isn't going to.......shut it off.

Good and bad news - I had pulled two of my four jandy values off looking for obstructions in the line and no luck so I put them back. Apparently I didn't get one of them back on air tight. Now the Pentair rep left me an email saying I have a block cleaner line. Bad news - he didn't clear it or even tell me how to clear it. This is a suction cleaner and guessing lots of leaves, branches etc must have clogged the line. How do I get that line cleared???
