Skimmer settings ?

Hello everyone
Livelox here.

I have came across inside my skimmers that there is a cup that you can put it over the drain hole below the basket and you basically cut some draining power of the hole. Do I need to limit the power or just have it to full suction ?
 
You can experiment with it as you wish. Usually we need more suction to the skimmers on a daily basis for surface water movement and to catch stuff in the skimmer before it sinks, but there may be a time where you need more drain suction. For example, if you are brushing dirt to the drain.

One skimmer was fully open and it resulted to get small parts in the basket before the pump and the filter. I think because it was that strong it sucked it in from the skimmer basket

Are you using a skimmer sock? Basically a product like an old nylon or 1 gal paint strainer net that you place inside the poolside skimmer(s). They catch fine debris really well before it can get to the pump basket and main filter. Do a quick search above or on Amazon for "skimmer sock" or skimmer nylon" and you'll see what I mean. Very cheap and helps a lot.

Just ordered some !
They seem very promising.

Also I have turned the jets left and a bit down, and they do wonders. Had to net my pool for 2 minutes instead of 10ish of going round and round finding more and more. Skimmer baskets are getting the job done now.
