I've got a hole in a 2" plastic pool return pipe that was drilled to install an automatic chlorinator. We've since removed the chlorinator leaving us with this gaping hole. How can we plug it? We tried a pipe clamp with a rubber gasket but that leaked and we don't want to tighten it too much for fear of breaking the pipe.

Tap the hole and install a threaded plug or cut the pipe in the middle of the hole and put in a coupler
Cut a coupling into 4 parts (cut lengthwise and then the other direction).
Glue a part over the hole. Clamp in place for 12 hours before pressurizing.
