DE powder - how much to add

I have a very old DE filter (the name is not very visible any more and the way the top is attached I can't see the whole sticker with info - most I can see is what is in the picture here. I think it is 46 or 48 sq ft. I have been using the plastic 1 cup container (picture below). How many cups should I use? or should I used a different container?

Got a kitchen scale? Once you know how much that thing holds by weight, the math should be simple. Otherwise, they sell DE scoops at the big pool stores that tell you how much they hold.

If you took things apart and really cleaned the grids, you want 4.8 lbs. If you only backwashed, you want 80% of that or about 3.8lbs.
