My friend bought an old home and it came with a pool. I am very confident in my abilities to help her with water chemistry and am buying her a TF100 as housewarming gift. My question is is this concrete, plaster or gunite?

Also, when standing on the deck and looking straight down the wall appears to bow out on one side of the pool and drop straight down on the rest of the pool. I took some pictures. Let me know what you think.

Thanks. It looks like a painted pool. Anyway, any ideas about the bulging wall?

You could lightly tap to see if it has a hollow sound. Was the house/pool inspected before purchase? It wasn't built that way so either it could be the plaster wall bulging due to delamination or the concrete/gunite wall has bulged in. I'd suggest having it inspected by a qualified pool builder.

They had the house inspected but did not follow my advice for a pool inspection. I’ll suggest they get someone out there and look at the wall. I didn’t think it looked normal.
