We didn't feel that an umbrella would be feasible on our sun ledge, as we went with the designer's spot on suggestion to put in our first step (9" high") then the ledge, so that our bums are actually in the water cooling off while we sit there in our resin ADK chairs vs. just our ankles. So I found this like tray with drink cups at Old Time Pottery (it is meant for the beach) and a polypropylene rod on Amazon (now discontinued, but Grainger has this one almost double the price of course; we tried an aluminum post and the third day it was pitted and leeching into the salt water! okay, chemistry lesson learned.
