Father in law wants a new heater and found a "deal" from a local AC company selling a Rheem that they way will suit his 10,000 gal IG in SW Florida. I think it's around $2,999 installed. We love our new Rheem AC system and I didn't know Rheem did pool heaters before we got our own Gulfstream 110 heater, which does the job although it's a lot louder than our AC system. Any thoughts on the Rheem?

The two brands of heat pumps I have seen mentioned as quality ones here on the forum are Aqua-Cal and Raypak.

A huge issue IMHO with heat pumps are customers being sold units that are too small. This creates issues as the unit isn’t able to keep up in the colder months. Do you know what size it is??

Rheem and Raypack are the same company. Rheem is the residential heating/cooling business and Raypak is the pool/spa/water business

I believe the heat pump that he was quoted for is 133k BTU on his 10,000g IGP.

This will replace the existing one that stopped working many years ago. He does not have solar but has had a solar blanket and reel but struggled putting it on and taking it off due to the shape of his pool.
