Staining

I am 16 days into the pool having water and for the past week I have kept numbers around TA 110, FC 1-2, pH 7.8, CYA 20-40. Calcium 150-250

The problem has been staining on the walls and steps. It is brown/yellow and appears to streak going down on walls. Waiting to hear back from my builder. Didn't see any cooper or iron in the test from Friday. I tried to use a vitamin c tablet on the step with not much luck.

Thoughts? Leslie's tried to sell me scaling and staining solution.

Welcome to the forum! :handshake:

From the faint color I can see on one of the photos it appears it is bleeding from a grout line in your tile. Have the pool builder confirm they sealed the grout lines.

Also, we suggest you get your own proper test kit. I use the TF100 from TFTestkits.net. We typically will not provide any chemical guidance based on pool store tests. Just an FYI, your CYA cannot 'range', it is a value, and your FC is too low. See [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA].

I suggest you read Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Trouble Free Pool School book.
