Hi all,
I felt it best to post this here as it is kind of off topic.
I'm looking for info on an above ground pool from I believe 1971.
Growing up, my parents had a pool my dad refered to as "the decagon" which, I think may have been actually "deck-a-gon" because it was both shaped like a decagon, and had a small deck all the way around it, maybe 12-15" wide. It also had a fairly large deck on one side. Or, maybe I'm just a dope and he was just calling it a decagon because of the shape. He later replaced it with a round pool in 1987. So, I don't know.
It was 48" high, I think 27' in diameter and was built out of wood that was painted red, aluminum pipes, metal track and yellow wavy fiberglass panels. The yellow panels both supported the liner, as well as were used as a privacy fence all the way around the pool. On the deck area it had a green plastic carpet material. The ladder was stainless steel and handled the plumbing for the pool, one side was the return and sprayed sideways into the pool and the other had a skimmer mounted to it with a short hose connected to the side of the ladder.
I'm curious if this was a locally built pool or if it was actually sold as a kit?
Does anyone remember such a thing?
