Hi all,
First season TFP'r here, and water is great!
I close the pool myself but usually have someone open it, although now I will try to open it myself next spring.
This year it was opened by someone new (to me), and he hasn't answered my calls about how his guys (turns out he wasn't present) put the equipment together.
There is blue "putty" on the connections on both sides of the pump (see pictures), as well as some errant putty on the heater.
This doesn't look at all like the blue PVC plumbing glue.
I hope it's not permanent, as I need to detach the pump and filter for the winter.
I've googled "blue pool putty" but I can't find anything that looks quite like this.
Does anyone know what this is?
Much appreciated,
Justin
EDIT: I've been googling more - this may be MEGALOC thread sealant, which can be used for PVC, although I read it shouldn't be used for unions with gaskets (which is on one side of the pump). It is not permanent and the joint should be able to be opened.
Is anyone familiar with this?
