We don't have our pool quite to where we want it eventually however we have done a lot to it in three years and the most recent thing that we did was add more umbrellas because I am a redhead and also a sunlover which is not always a good combination... even though I do tan more than most redheads getting fried is definitely an option still20170708_170100.jpg

Hey, put some water in that pool!!! Don't you know the liner will shift....oh wait, that's a TFP pool....disregard.

Oh believe me, I have lots of memories of the infamous milk bowl incident of 2016...lol... I was just reminding my husband of back when I was about 21 years old and our apartment complex hired me to do some things around the complex including taking care of the pool...oh man...i have no idea what I did to that pool...eek!

We got the umbrellas for about $26 each at Walmart and each one covers a 9 foot span... we went and bought 10 ft lengths of fence pole that you use to put in a chain link fence and had them cut down to 7 feet... hubby dug holes two feet deep and as wide as the post hole diggers... then he centered each Pole and pounded it down into the ground at the bottom of the hole about a foot ... then he poured a bag of Quikrete around each one once he knew it was level from top to bottom and about a gallon of water in each hole... we made sure to get fence posts that were smaller than the inside diameter of the umbrella poles... we did discover that it doesn't take much wind to get up underneath them and start trying to take them out off of the pole so we're going to drill a hole through the umbrella pole and the fence pole and stick a bolt through it so they stay put

So even though the poles went to feet into the hole they also went a foot into the ground in addition to that so a total of 3 ft in the ground and 4 feet above the ground... we will be doing some adjusting on the heights to make them go from short To Tall and then back to Short so that they look nice

also...they are set up about 3 feet out from the side of the pool so there is room to get in between and do maintenance as needed...you could go closer if your set up accommodates it, but we have garden ties with sand around the base of the pool to discourage weeds as best we can...
