Chlorine option for commercial size pool

So here is an interesting add on to the story...I took my typical 5 year re-up of CPO training class. Our instructor was very big on Cal-hypo as a source for chlorine. When I asked about his usage getting above 300ppm he told me that CA is a metal and has coagulated properties above 400ppm. I...

Chlorine option for commercial size pool

I’m not opposed to getting 55gallon of 12.5% delivered like at another pool I run but lugging those are a real pain in this application. I’ve never heard of the lithium based salt. I may research that.

Chlorine option for commercial size pool

I see your point. I’d have to backwash and fill frequently to keep under my CA limit. I set 300ppm limit because of my goal Saturation index and I feel as if the other variables are stable.

Chlorine option for commercial size pool

Taking care of a new commercial pool. Began with SLAM & passed the OCLT. 40ppm CYA. 115 total volume. pH stable at 7.8. CA around 175ppm. Got very tired of transporting 21 gallons of liquid each week as it was requiring three per day. So I opted for Hypo Chloride at $2 per 1ppm raise in Cl...

    Bromine & Nosebleeds

Is there any solution you can help me with? I target 6.75 ppm Bromine each morning or 3p FC. By the time swim practice occurs in late afternoon it is probably closer to 5ppm bromine. I'm kinda limited as to how much lower I can go according to local health codes and the fact that I don't have...

Green pool, I'm losing faith in the fight!!

I wouldn't do mustard algae yet. He is showing good improvement. Afterall it has only been two days at SLAM. The pool didn't turn grean in that amount of time.

Ok,, I'm at the point of tossing in anything that might help

I love my Taylor 2006 Comercial kit but it is suited for my application. Typically can spend 5 min per day and know exactly what I am dealing with and react immediately. Truly the best $70 I've ever spent and my clients are happy and safe. Find a test kit that fits for you; and you will never...

    Bromine & Nosebleeds

We have a client that seems to get a nose bleed each time he comes to swim practice and gets into the bromine water. She says that it rarely happens in her Parent's salt water pool but occasionally. He is prone to bleeds and has a recent nose break injury; after the fact. Wondering if chlorine...

    I hate my pool...

If you do have the ammonia issue then it can burn off very quickly then your left with your daughter dumping in a lot of bleach every 90 min. Could end up with a very high level of chlorine in your pool when you return.

Reclaiming my pool from the green monster - half way there have a few questions

Don't do the clarifier. Half the time it doesn't work and turns water cloudy anyway

Can't shake this green cloudy pool - new pool owner

I suspect a complete drain and refill is in your future. If going forward as a bromine pool to see how it works I guess you can try putting aprox 10 ppm chlorine in your pool each evening as the sun stops shining on the water. This should allow the chlorine to do the job working on algae each...

Can't shake this green cloudy pool - new pool owner

Your Bromine may be getting eaten up by Algae or bather waste but I suspect your biggest issue is that you cannot protect your bromine from the Sun and as soon as the rays hit it then it will drop your bromine to near zero every time/day.
