Okay, thank you! I'll take a look at this option as well. The filter I have is not the one pictured, the threads are very course with probably 1/8" in between them and 1/8" deep. That may be part of the issue too is that if the seal isn't perfect, there aren't enough threads to prevent the...

The diameter is much larger than a garden hose? I'm hoping if I file the male end smooth, the gasket supplied will be able to do it's job although it is very thin.

Okay, thanks! The PH has remained around 7.8 - 8.0 without adding any acid. I added acid previously (around 3 cups daily) and got it down to 7.4 but then ran out of acid. This time I added 1/2 gallon approx and it worked better at getting it down. I was hoping it would adjust the TA level...
