A friend of my wifes is having a pool installed by Blue Haven. I see on their website their equipment is referred to as SmartFilter, SmartMax StarPump and motor, SmartVac, etc. Anyone know who actually builds this equipment?

Try the bucket test to make sure but it's probably just evaporation.

According to AquaChem, if that's the brand, there is no copper in it.

Thanks, Qwaxalot et al: I have ordered another Whisperflo since I see no advantage to change to another brand. I got a good deal from Poolplaza, Carl W. is a wealth of information and very helpful. I highly recommend them.

Does anyone have an opinion, in general, of Pentair pumps vs. Hayward pumps, design, quietness, service, etc.? Thanks!

Thanks, Melt. That's probably what I'm going to do, get another Whisperflo unless someone gives me a good reason to try something else.

I do keep all skimmers and main drain running all the time and the flow seems to be good, not super strong but not weak either. Sounds like the 1.5 HP Whisperflo is about right. Thanks.

I have a bypass for the heater so if/when I need to replace it no worries. It's very easy to do and you won't have to worry about it later.

I'm in North Central Maryland and opened my pool yesterday, April 30. Waiting for the clouds to break to warm it up a bit.

I have never heard someone say; "Gee I wish my pool was smaller".
