Where does HD keep the liquid? I saw a whole pallet baking out in the garden center one day, but it disappeared and wasn't near the pool chemicals (also outside). Worried about shelf like in that respect, but didn't ask for help since I don't need to buy for another couple months.

In the SF Bay Area, I got a 2-pack (gallons) HTH 10% for $6.50 at Walmart. Seems like about the same value as Herb's, but I have a tub so I prefer the lower % and smaller volume.

There are also a lot of closed foam floating insulation blankets for sale online. I got one from rhtubs and will let you know if it reduces my energy consumption at all.

Ok, so I've seen chem geek's suggestion that 1-bather hour requires aproximately 5 oz bleach to oxidize waste. Given my hot tub is a mere 290 gal, if my wife and I soak 1 hour per day, that's 10 oz 6% bleach or +17 FC, which is 1.5x shock level at 30 CYA. So basically I'm super-shocking every...
