Yes, it does climb the walls and do the tile line. Possibly it sits at that point a little longer than it "should", which makes sense that it could put pressure on an old liner. Although I'm not sure though what I can do about that?

Thanks, and yeah that's what I thought too - it's not sophisticated, if some other part was grazing the liner I should know it. Yes, the liner is over 10 years old too, which could be a factor. The tear was actually on the wall, and I believer there were 2 of them.

It's not a new pool. It worked through last year. I want sure if some valve wasn't turned when the pool was opened this year. I don't think there's a blower.

I've had this system set up since the pool was put in 3 years ago. The remote was never set up to control the heater - I don't remember why - so we've just controlled the heater manually from outside, no big deal obviously. However I was just thinking I might as well have the heater hooked up...
