Pool Build - California Dreaming - 3 Years Closer

Re: Pool Build - California Dreaming OUCH! I hit my head on the computer monitor when I tried to jump in. Your pool looks too good to resist! I hope you have good security, I can imagine all the neighbors will by jealous!

SWG or Not? (plus info about better Intex type filters)

You are welcome. You know, if you have lots of intex filter hoses, you can fasten them together with tape, and vacuum using your pool filter. I also found the same size of intex pool hose fits exactly inside the cheap intex vacuum head, right where the bag hangs off. Just ignore where a...

SWG or Not? (plus info about better Intex type filters)

Re: SWG or Not? Nothing but vacuuming gets the crud off the floor, but after a heavy bather load, or if the water isn't quite so clear, you might notice the pool clears quicker with the better filter. Don't forget to wash it off more frequently.

SWG or Not? (plus info about better Intex type filters)

Re: SWG or Not? It was part of a two pack from Walmart. "Universal Twin Pack Replacement A/C Filter Cartridges" Right above the barcode on the lower right of the packaging it says Distributed by Walmart. I used to have the spun fiber ones, they were sold in a single pack. I bought those...

SWG or Not? (plus info about better Intex type filters)

Re: SWG or Not? Just out of curiosity, which intex filters are you using? Does the filter paper look like a spun fiber, or does it look like a paper with a dot pattern when dirty? I struggled with fine debris when I was using the intex filter with a spun fiber look (looks kinda like a dryer...

    Intex easy set skimmer bracket

If it works, it's not hokey. You could go ahead and add a little platform to hold drinks, and maybe some towel bars? It could also have some added hooks for pool toys, make it multifunctional.

Free Intex saltwater system ( Now $50 )

Re: Free Intex saltwater system Another big THANK YOU! :whoot: I was too poor to justify the sand filter I had been wanting for a while, but after I figured I could sell the SWG on craigslist, add in the 50 dollar gift card, the sand filter is cheaper than buying a seasons worth of paper...

Getting the pool up late this year But... here we go :)

How full is it? do you have a couple bottle jacks and some scrap lumber? It might be possible to get the legs straightend. I wouldn't try putting stuff under the low ones, the bottom of the pool could rip out, but you could dig out the high ones until they are level with the low ones. It...

    The dreaded rash!

Long before finding this board, when I didn't know much about BBB and the first two years with the kiddie pool the ONLY time my son got a rash in the summer was right after I added algaecide to the pool after having it up for a month or so. I didn't catch on the first summer, but when his rash...

How to take a sample for a pool store to test?

Just out of curiosity, how does everyone take their samples for pool store testing and what do you store the sample in?? I am rather dirt poor at the moment and can't afford more than the test strips for a while. I haven't ever taken a sample in to a pool store and am wondering what folks use...
