Can anyone confirm if the power supply controls the direction of the drive motor or is it controlled I the motor portion itself? What tells it when to change direction or is it strictly time based? Trying to understand the logic process to the cycles.

My old girl is not that fancy - impeller just runs one direction and speed and tracks are supposed to go both ways - but now only one. So no diverter on this one...... Issue is drive motor direction control - seems power supply related but want to confirm.

Why would I only get 2 speed options if the prologic has a variable option in the menu? So I could use a timer on non-Hayward VSP to do the same thing - would that cause issues with making sure heater only runs during enough flow? Same for chlorinator? Sorry am new to the 2 speed / VSP concept...

Unfortunately the wind is mostly across the pool towards the skimmer side - which makes sense as dead spots vary at times and I didn't know that was the theory behind it. Hindsight I would have installed 2 in the wall!!! Is there a way to use the returns to force circulation somewhat?
