Water is Yellow. Never seen anything like it.

Yeah I keep telling him to just start over...especially since he's on a well. Of course he didn't listen at startup when I told him to just fill, shock, and balance and he'd have no problems. Instead he filled it...let it sit for four days...decided it was turning a color and added tablet...

Water is Yellow. Never seen anything like it.

Much thanks to you and Jason. What is Sequestrant exactly? I've never had to deal with it or source it out. Is it something that is called something else at maybe Wal-mart or do I need to tell him to go to the pool store? Is it the same stuff branded as "Stain and Scale" remover in the pool...

That thread mentioned a PH/TA crash. His PH is at the bottom of what is testable...and the TA test was really weird and absurdly low if it can be trusted (it turned all sorts of colors).

Water is Yellow. Never seen anything like it.

Yeah I've already preached all that and def told him needs to keep SLAMing. I showed him what I was testing and what it meant and that CC= still need to shock. I guess we shouldn't be too baffled by the color it until the CC is 0 and passing OCLT? - - - Updated - - - Oh yeah it is. It's...

Water is Yellow. Never seen anything like it.

I'm helping a friend with his pool. He bought a small 3300 gallon intex and asked me about what to do to keep it up since knows i have a pool. I told him about TFP and told him that since he was dealing with such a small pool just to get a chlorine drop test and maintain. I also told him...

Proud owner of a glorious swamp!

I think you pull the little thingy sticking outwards then it should just work like a draw string. Cinch it back up and push the "thingy" back inwards. ...yeah yeah...thingy...in, out, in, out. What she said.

New to SWG. Questions about Intex Krystal Clear and balancing.

Oh I definitely agree. This problem is the result of lack of attention over winter. However, testing and adding bleach everyday the best I ever did was about twice a week. Which was fine for the last two summers but the occasional outbreak was just a was inevitable and a PITA. Im hoping the SWG...

New to SWG. Questions about Intex Krystal Clear and balancing.

Well today when I tested after a shock it didn't show any FC but I'm also using a DPD test as I haven't gotten a DAP kit added to my Leslie kit. Guess I need to do that ASAP. I think it might be an issue of filtering but in the past the green has always kind of whited out when I finally got...

New to SWG. Questions about Intex Krystal Clear and balancing.

Ok started shocking at the higher level today estimating my CYA at 80 which according to the chart is FC @ 28. I most recently added stabilizer two days ago so on a whim I tested to see where it was at. It obscurred the dot long before it got to the 100 mark. Im pretty puzzled at this point...

New to SWG. Questions about Intex Krystal Clear and balancing.

So the long and short is I just don't have the time to devote to the BBB method to do it in the way that I needs to be done, daily. The result being I have periodic algae blooms and end up wasting a lot of time and money on getting things back into balance. So this year I decided to give SWG a...

    Clean up or start over?

Thanks for your suggestion. I too did not like the idea of wasting all that water. I just didn't know if it was at a point of being too far gone. Your post makes me feel a lot better. Maybe I'll post progress pics. :p

    Clean up or start over?

I should also ask. I read about using an algecide and then flock to do it. I know that's what the store would suggest. I don't have any experience with other chemicals as I've always used the BBB method.

    Clean up or start over?

Hey this my third year with the pool and I am the proud owner of a 13,500 gallon ag pond. I've been doing the BBB method for the past three years but I posted here because it might help a new owner who inherited a pond. Also its a pretty noobie situation to be in. ;) Long story short, I let...

    New AGP Owner, several problems

It may be a little more than that but it's still pretty negligible. At times it's standing water and I can see around the edge of the pool where it's wet. To my knowledge no pipes run underneath it, could it just be ground water? I'm perplexed because there is some cratering under the liner...

    New AGP Owner, several problems

I've been lurking on the TFP forums since I became a pool owner in July of this year and have been using the BBB since I started. It's a 24' round Artesian Pool Echo Canyon. We've had an unusually warm fall so I've delayed closing until today. While cleaning and getting my siphon going I've...
